ARJUNA VS KARNA

He ruined the life of Karna by waking him up when he was dreaming to become the greatest warrior and surpass Arjuna in archery which was totally impossible in reality. Here are the efforts taken by Arjuna to make Karna realize the reality :-
  • He strung that bow in Draupadi swayamvar which Karna failed to string
  • He made Karna withdrew from the battle by showing his prowess in Draupadi swayamvar
  • He defeated the gods at Khandava forest along with Lord Krishna
  • He greatly impressed Lord Shiva through his penance and martial skills such that Lord Shiva compared Arjuna’s valor to be equal to that of himself
  • He learnt all the five branches of archery
  • He defeated and killed Nivatkavachas whom even gods failed to defeat
  • He freed Duryodhana by defeating those Gandharvas whom Karna failed to defeat.
  • He killed the foster brother of Karna in front of his eyes and defeated Karna 3 times in Virata war
  • He defeated Karna along with all the Kuru Maharathis and killed Jayadratha in their presence
  • On 17th day he defeated and killed Karna in a fair fight
That's how Arjuna ruined the dream of Karna of becoming the greatest warrior

It's a big misconception that Arjuna killed Karna by cheating and by using unfair means but according to BORI CE which is the most authentic version of Vaisampayana Mahabharata, Arjuna killed Karna in a fair fight.All the references provided here are from Bibek Debroy translation of BORI CE 1 ). Victory of Pradyumna over Karna in battle

Pradyumna and Karna never fought in Mahabharata but according to Harivamsha which is the Khila Parva of Mahabharata Pradyumna was far superior warrior to Karna. Here's the proof that Harivamsa is also a part of original Mahabharata :- Bibek Debroy translation of BORI CE, Section-2 ‘These are the contents of the eighteen parvas.
