It was Arjuna who faced misfortune through out all his life and fought with every problem and emerged as a hero. He ruined the life of Karna by waking him up when he was dreaming to become the greatest warrior and surpass Arjuna in archery which was totally impossible in reality. Pradyumna and Karna never fought in Mahabharata but according to Harivamsha which is the Khila Parva of Mahabharata Pradyumna was far superior warrior to Karna.
